Elizabeth Catherine Cooley Bryant passed away last Friday morning at 11:15 o'clock at the home of her son William Bryant near Elston. Mrs. Bryant had been ill for five months and the immedieate cause of death was dropsy. Her maiden name was Cooley and she was born one mile north of Kirkpatrick seventy six years ago last September. She was married fifty five years ago to Sylvester Bryant, who died twenty six years ago. She leaves three children, Mrs. Mary Sprague and John Bryant of Iowa, and William Bryant of Elston. Mrs. Bryant expressed a wish to be buried by the side of her mother in the Union cemetery and this wish was carried out. The funeral was conducted from the Kirkpatrick Methodist Church, Monday morning at 10:00 o'clock. Mrs. Bryant was a woman of beautiful character and had a large circle of friends. She was a devoted mother and a true friend. She was the author of many good deeds and her life was useful and honored. She died rich in the respect of all those who knew her.
This obit was from the Clarks Hill News, July 24, 1914. I cut out the obit June 20, 2013 from the paper which was given to me.
Her obit says she is buried in Union, and he is too, but he is placed in Concord. That appears to not be correct.
