Alvin James Bryant was born January 23, 1953 in Galveston, Texas.

Educated in the public schools of La Marque, Texas, he was a 1971 graduate of La Marque High School. He served his country and was a veteran of the United States Air Force.

At an early age, he accepted Christ and was baptized by the late Rev. J. H. Scott at Greater Barbour's Chapel Baptist Church in Texas City. He later united with Jesus Is Lord Church Family in La Marque.

Alvin was employed with McRee Ford in Dickinson, Texas. He served as a dedicated employee for 14 years.

On Saturday, July 21, 2012, Alvin passed from this earthly life. He is preceded in death by his father, Doyle Bryant; mother, Blanche Wright Bryant; and step-mother, Tressa Rose Bryant.

Left to cherish memories of his life are his siblings, Jacqueline Gill of Texas City, Texas, Lula (Glenn) Houston, Vanessa Jones both of Atlanta, Georgia, Francesca Denise (Kevin) Jones of Dallas, Texas, Rev. Clarence (Michelle) Bryant of Minden, Louisiana and Rev. Mark (Nannie) Austin of Lake Jackson, Texas; aunts, Pastor Virginia Wright of Texas City, Texas and Norma Dillon of California; nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
