Mrs. Mary Bowen, age 35, wife of Bruce Bowen, one of the best known of the younger women of Clinton County, died at 1:40 o'clock Thursday afternoon at St. Elizabeth Hospital.
She had been at the hospital for the past nine weeks.
Mrs. Bowen had lived near Rossville all her life. Besides being prominent in the northern part of the county, she was well known in Frankfort. Recently she had been very active in the affairs of the American Legion Auxiliary in this city.
Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the home, south of Rossville on state road 39. The Rev. C.C. Harold of Attica will officiate.
Mrs. Bowen was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S.A. Bryan of near Rossville and was born in Ross Township on June 22, 1895. She was married to Bruce Bowen August 8, 1919.
Besides the husband and parents, she is survived by one sister, Mrs. Ray Smith of Rossville. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
