Ada Caroline Bryan, 107, formerly of Westville, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2008, in LaPorte.

She was born on Sept. 19, 1900, in Louisville, Ill., to Herbert F. and Mabel (Luther) Harrison.

Ada retired from Beatty Memorial Hospital where she worked as a secretary. She also worked at Allis-Chalmers and Kingsbury Ordnance Plant in the archives department. She was a member of the Westville United Methodist Church where she was active with the paper drive and the proceeds going to the Heifer Project. She was also a member of the Westville Women's Club and Missionary Ministries. She enjoyed raising her own hybrid tea roses.

She is survived by her daughter, Marjorie A. Bishop of Union Mills; grandchildren, Roger (Louise) Bishop of Westerly, R.I, and Nancy (John) Mandeville of Westpoint, Ind.; great-grandchildren, Kyle Mandeville of Attica, Ind., Kelli Hawk of Darlington, Ind., Andrea Mandeville of Lexington, Ky., Tracy Vance of Waynetown, Ind., Susan Mandeville of Lafayette, Ind., Betsy Mandeville of Westpoint, Ind, Bryan Bishop of Arlington, Va., and Mary and Vanessa Bishop of Westerly, R.I.; and great-great-grandchildren, William, Caroline, and Andrew Mandeville of Attica, Ind., and James, Peyton and Madison Vance of Waynetown, Ind.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Weber J. Bryan; her parents; daughter, Patricia Bos; and sons-in-law John E. Bos and Alvin J. Bishop.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2008, at 11 a.m. at Westville Cemetery. Newhard Funeral Home, Westville, is in charge of arrangements.
