Jack was preceded in death by his wife Doris King Bruton of 50 years;
his parents, Vurl & Erma Bruton; his daughter, Kathy Roe; his son, Jack Ray Bruton ; and his granddaughter, Rebekah Rae Godwin.
Jack was a founding member, faithful volunteer, and carpenter of Potter's Clay Mission in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He spent the last 12 years of his life caring for others through the ministry.
He was born and raised in West Tulsa. Jack was a 1946 graduate of Webster High School where he shined on the football field and set many school records in track. Upon graduation, Jack entered the United States Army and was a World War II Veteran. While in the service, Jack married his high school sweetheart, Doris Mae King. Together they raised their children, Suzanne, Nick, & Kathy. Jack coached Blue T football and youth baseball in West Tulsa for many years. He was a dedicated employee at Sun Oil Company for 38 years.
Donations may be made to Potter's Clay Mission in Jack's memory.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 16, 2010,
at the Potters Clay Mission in Tulsa with Pastor Terrence Godwin officiating.
Committal Prayers and Interment will follow along with Military Honors
at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Under the direction of Mark Griffith Memorial Funeral Home - Westwood Chapel in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
