Owen Bruno, 76, of Albany, Oregon, died Monday, April 9, at Samaritan Albany General Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born April 5, 1931, in Challis, Idaho, the son of Calvin and Pauline (Curtis) Bruno.
He served in the Army, 25th Division, during the Korean War from 1951-52, where he was awarded a Purple Heart and oak-leaf clusters.

Owen married Mary Kelso in 1953 in Salmon, Idaho.

He worked at Wah Chang in Albany, retiring in 1992. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, camping and supplying nesting houses for bluebirds.

Owen is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary Bruno of Albany; sons and daughters-in-law, C J and Wanda Bruno of Kalama, Washington and Lynn and Lori Bruno of Bend; grandchildren, Garrett, Morgan, Larissa and Jake; one brother, Dick Bruno of Idaho; Sisters, Juanita Dean Burstedt, Myrtle Corbett, and Marilyn Leuzinger, all of Idaho.

Memorial services will be held at Fisher Funeral Home in Albany at 2 p.m., today, April 12.

Graveside services will be held at Challis Memorial Cemetery, Challis, Idaho at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 14.
