George Louis Bruckert, Jr., 86, of Western Springs, formerly of Oak Park/River Forest, Chicago and LaGrange, passed away May 8, 2008 at Haven Hospice in Gainesville, FL.

George was born May 2, 1922 in Oak Park, IL. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. George was a licensed attorney for over 50-years and was a partner in the Chicago Law Firm of Riordan, Larson, Bruckert & McCambridge. He laid out land-tracks for subdivisions in Hinsdale and Western Springs, Il and Prescott, AZ, where he won an award for his work there.

He received his B.A. Degree at the Michigan State University in 1948. He received his L.L.B. from the University of Wisconsin in 1953 and was admitted to the Chicago Bar in 1952; the Illinois Bar in 1953. George was a member of the LaGrange Country Club.

Visitation will be held Friday, May 16, 2008 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside. Services Saturday, May 17, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment Oakridge/Glen Oak Cemetery in Hillside, IL.

George is survived by his former wife, Sharron Wartinger; son, George III of Western Springs and Lisle, IL; nephews and nieces, Don, John and Carol Barlow and Ellen Colliard.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the U.S.O., The American Cancer Society or Literary Volunteers would be appreciated by the family. Funeral arrangements handled by Hallowell & James Funeral Home, (708) 352-6500.
