Bobbie Deerinwater Bruck, 93, died, January 2, 2015, in Archer City.

A memorial service will be held in the Chapel of First Presbyterian Church on Tuesday, January 6, at 10:30 a.m. Dr. Ike Butterworth and Roger Deerinwater will officiate.

Bobbie was born August 1, 1921, on the family farm near Coweta, Oklahoma to Thomas Ralph Stone and Hattie Pearl Spurgin Stone. She graduated from Porter High School at the age of sixteen. She married Major Lloyd E. “Chief” Deerinwater, on March 20, 1953. He preceded her in death on June 27, 1982.

Bobbie received her Education Degree from Northeastern Oklahoma University. She taught elementary school for the W.F.I.S.D. for thirty years, closing-out her career working with extremely challenged children and the terminally ill.

Bobbie married long-time friend, Owen Bruck, on June 12, 1994. They had been a source of great strength and comfort to each other when losing their spouses. During their twelve years together they enjoyed traveling to many places, visiting friends and family often. They took great pleasure attending grandchildren’s events and family activities. They had a busy and happy life until Owen’s death May 16, 2006.

Bobbie’s family include: her daughter: Laura Deerinwater Richmond and husband, John, of Jennings, Oklahoma;her sons: Dan Deerinwater and wife, Christine, of Pokassett, Oklahoma; Roger Deerinwater and wife, Carol, of Archer City;Owen’s daughters: Sally Johnson and husband, David, of Wichita Falls; Donna Post and her husband, George, of Arlington; her brother: Gene Stone and wife, Jan, of Coweta, Oklahoma nine grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.

Bobbie was also preceded in death by her sons, James Fryatt, and Bub Deerinwater; her siblings, Alma, Buster, Ken, and Bill Stone.
