He was born on September 30, 1932 in Benton, Arkansas to the late Oscar and Maria Bruce.
He was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, a Veteran of the Korean War and was the owner of Bruce Maintenance then retired to being Maintenance Personnel at Willow Brook Retirement.
He was preceded in death by his wife Virginia Bruce, his daughter Rita Duty, and his son Kevin Bruce.
He is survived by his sons Phillip Bruce and David Bruce both of Fort Smith, AR., his daughter Amy Hays and husband Todd of Fort Smith, AR., eleven grandchildren Liza Stamps, Shana Dusenbury, Stephanie Duty, Thomas Duty, Jonathan Cowan, Douglas Bruce, Katie Bruce, Courtney Bruce, Whitney Hays, Allie Hays and Carter Hays and ten great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 3, 2011 at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith, AR. with interment at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 3, 2011 Mt. Harmony Cemetery in Haskell, AR.
