BRUCE, Dorothy P., 81, of Woodford, passed away peacefully Wednesday, December 24, 2014, in Bowling Green Health and Rehab Center. She was the widow of James Irving Bruce, a long-time member of Calvary Baptist Church and she devoted her life to providing a loving home for her family. She was a wonderful cook, loved her dogs and enjoyed raising flowers. Survivors include her children, Barbara B. Lewis (Craig), Carol B. Pitts (Nelson), Diane Bowling and James Irving Bruce Jr.; her sister, Virginia P. Davidson; two brothers, Joe Parisek and John "Mickey" Parisek; five grandchildren, Edward W. Lewis (Samantha), Hilary Farnam (Andrew), Jennifer Pitts (Matthew), Christopher Pitts (Laurie) and Jesse Bruce; six great-grandchildren; and her faithful caregiver, Bonnie McKinney. The family will receive friends at Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green, Saturday, December 27, from 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held Sunday, December 28, at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with burial to follow in Lakewood Cemetery.
