DELHI, NY — Hannah Falck Bruce, 95, passed away on Friday morning, April 9, 2004, at the Countryside Care Center in Delhi.
Hannah was born on March 29, 1909, on the family farm near Greenbrier, Pa., the daughter of Katie M. Schoffstall and William S. Falck.
Hannah attended the University of Pennsylvania Hospital School of Nursing in Philadelphia, received her Registered Nurse degree in 1932, and in the following years held several positions as a staff, private and head nurse.
Hannah married Peter P. Bruce on Nov. 22, 1939, in Philadelphia. After marriage, she traveled the eastern United States following Peter's moves in the service during World War II. In 1948, she worked side-by-side with Peter to establish a photographic studio in Tyrone, Pa. They moved to State College, Pa., in 1962, and operated their business as Infinity Photography until retirement in 1978.
In retirement, they traveled extensively, pursued their interest in family genealogy, and kept close connections with family.
Hannah is survived by her husband, Peter P. Bruce; their daughter, Barbara Bruce and husband O. Frederick Onasch of Delhi; grandson, Greg Onasch of Delhi, grandson, Timothy B. Onasch of Lowell, Mass.; granddaughter, Emily Hannah and husband Jonathan A. Walsh of Schenectady; and brother, Norman Falck and wife Gladys of Lewisburg, Pa.
A family service was held Saturday, April 10, 2004, at the MacArthur Funeral Home in Delhi, officiated by the Rev. Joseph Bokel, chaplain of Countryside Care Center and the Rev. Lisa Heckman, pastor of the United Ministry of Delhi.
Hannah will be laid to rest in the Woodland Cemetery in Delhi.
