Genevieve "Jennie" M. Applegate, 94, of Champaign passed away at 11 a.m. Thursday (July 15, 2010) at her residence.
She was born on Feb. 28, 1916 in Champaign to Jasper and Dorothy Brainerd Brownfield. She married William Applegate on Oct. 26, 1943 in Conway, S.C. He preceded her in death on March 26, 1997. She was also preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, James, Ona, Samuel and Tom Brownfield; and four sisters, Rose (Ivy) Shelton, Betty Cook and two infant sisters.
Surviving are one brother, Duaine (Louise) Brownfield of Thomasboro and several nieces and nephews.
