Erma died at the young age of 61 of pulminary fibrosis.
Our loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and cousin returned to her father in heaven November 1, 2000, after a courageous battle against pulmonary fibrosis.
She was born May 20, 1939, in Loa, Utah to Charles LaVor and May Taylor Brown. She married Lyle Royce Allen, March 30, 1956, and was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple and spent 44 wonderful years together. She was very proud of their two daughters and two sons and their accomplishments. She supported all her loved ones in all their activities. She enjoyed visiting her homeland of Wayne County and getting together with her family and friends. Her memories of growing up in Wayne County were very fond to her. She enjoyed living on the farm, in Loa, with her sisters and brothers. After moving to Salt Lake City she was always excited to see Mama "Grandma Brown" on the holidays.
She is presently employed as secretary for the Utah Funeral Directors Association, having worked for 11 years at a job she truly loved. She also worked for Rocky Mountain Bank Note for 15 years starting out on the floor and working her way up the ladder to the front office. She loved to travel with her husband and in later years with the Utah Funeral Directors to the national conventions. They visited every state but two.
She expressed herself beautifully with cross-stitching that fills her children's homes.
She showed her unconditional love in her concern with hugs and kisses. Her devotion and support to her husband was endless. The gifts she gave will live in our hearts forever.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held many positions that included the Primary Presidency, President of the Young Women and taught in the Relief Society.
She is survived by her husband Royce; daughters Debra (Craig) Young, Taylorsville and Laurie Parry, Draper; sons Gary Allen, West Jordan and Jeff (Brenda) Allen, West Jordan; eight grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents LaVor and May Brown, brothers Earl and Dale Brown, son-in-law Bruce Parry and loving grandson Aaron Parry. Those who loved and knew her will miss her.
Services will be held Saturday, November 4, 2000, at 12 noon at the Bennion Heights 4th Ward, 3045 West Bernina Drive (5820 South), where friends may call Friday, November 3rd, 6-8 p.m. and Saturday 11-11:45 a.m. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park, 4335 W. 4100 South. Directors, Jenkins-Soffe.
