Phyllis B. Anderson

LACONIA - Phyllis B. Anderson, 87, formerly of 84 Gilmanton Road, Belmont, died at the St. Francis Home on Saturday, September 3, 2005. She was the widow of Earl O. Anderson, a long time photographer and reporter for the Manchester Union Leader, who died August 9, 1986.

Mrs. Anderson was born February 15, 1918 in Candia, NH, the daughter of Walter J. and Blanche (Stearns) Brown. She graduated from Manchester Central High School in 1938 and attended the Nashua Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She had been a resident of the Lakes Region since 1949.

Mrs. Anderson was a member of the Laconia Congregational Church. She was a charter member of the Tavern Ladies of the William Pitt Tavern Masonic Lodge in Portsmouth, NH; the Eastern Star, Mt. Washington Lodge #12, the Audubon Society and the Laconia Historical Society.

Survivors include two daughters, Sheryl L. Anderson Merrill of Belmont, NH and Daun M. Anderson of Boston, MA; one grandchild, Daun C. Rolan of Boston, MA; four sisters, Charlotte B. Casey of Manchester, NH, Marjery B. Christiansen of Hollywood, Florida, Thelma B. Weeks of Candia, NH and Mary B. Farmar of Plymouth, NH and many nephews and nieces. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her son, Robert E. Anderson, in 1963 and by a sister, Doris B. Osgood.

There will be no calling hours.

A Graveside Service will be held at the family lot in McClary Cemetery, Epsom, NH. The date and time will be announced at a later date.
