Thelma A. Adams, 79, died Oct. 17, 2000, at MaineGeneral Medical Center. She was born in Milbridge, a daughter of Harold A. and Lena Pinkham Brown. She was raised in Bar Harbor by her mother and stepfather, Forrest E. Dow.
In 1960 she married Guy L. Adams. Mr. Adams died in 1977.
Mrs. Adams was employed for 10 years in the dietetic service department at the Veterans Administration in Togus, retiring in 1980.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and was a longtime member of Penny Memorial Baptist Church.
Her interests were playing beano, completing crossword puzzles and being with her family.
Survivors include her son, Forrest A. of Monmouth; four daughters, Mrs. Tom (Joyce M.) Lupien of Waldoboro, Mrs. Robert (Sue A.) Bell of Windsor, Mrs. James (Dale E.)
Littlefield of Augusta, and Vicki L. Adams of South China; a sister, Lena A. Gardner of Augusta; and 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
A burial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Friar LeClair Memorial Chapel in the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements are by Staples Funeral Home, Gardiner. (Portland Press Herald (ME) - October 19, 2000)
