The Tennessean, April 22, 1939:

MRS. C. O. BROWN

Wife of Railroad Man Dies After Heart Attack; Rites Today

Mrs. C. O. Brown, 42, was found dead at 3:45 o'clock yesterday afternoon on the floor of her apartment in the Lindsley Apartments, 15 Lindsley Avenue. Her body was found by her husband, a train dispatcher for the Tennessee Central railroad, when he returned home from work.

Members of the family said that Mrs. Brown had been in ill health for several months, but had not been confined to her bed. Dr. W.J. Core, who examined the body, attributed her death to a heart attack.

Mrs. Brown, who before her marriage was Miss Katie Belle Farnsworth, was born in Williamson County, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. S.A. Farnsworth. She and her husband moved to Nashville from Franklin in 1916.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Miss Catherine Brown of Nashville; two sons, Howard and Hillard Brown of Nashville; a sister, Mrs. H.O. Hartman of Nashville, and a brother, S.E. Farnsworth of Franklin.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 o'clock this afternoon at the Bracey-Welsh Funeral Home, 2407 West End Avenue, with the Rev. Guard Green, pastor of the Donelson Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
