Services Held Tues. For Barney Brown
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Lelia Lake First Baptist Church for Barney Brown with Rev. Roland Jenkins and Rev. Tommy Beck officiating.
Mr. Brown, 69, died at his home in Lelia Lake early Sunday morning. He had been a resident of Lelia Lake thirty-five years where he has farmed and managed fishing and hunting at the Taylor lakes near Lelia Lake. He was a member of the Methodist Church.
Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Lena Brown, Lelia Lake; one daughter, Mrs. Juan Dell Christian, Lubbock; two sisters, Mrs. Sally Reed, Pamona, Calif.; and Mrs. Ella Peggram, Dalhart; three brothers, J.A., Amarillo; J.E., Amherst; and Bob Brown, Albuquerque, N.M.; and one grandchild.
Pallbearers were Johnny Parker, Albert Gerner, Ellis Chenault, J.H. Wood, Murphy Brock and Montie Wolford.
Burial was in Citizens Cemetery with the Murphy Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
