Funeral Service for Donal Brown, 90, of Tatum, New Mexico is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 14, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church in Tatum New Mexico; burial will follow in the Tatum City Cemetery. There will be a visitation Friday, March 13, 2015 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
Donal was born August 8, 1924 in Scranton, Texas to John Marvin Brown and Eura Lee Bailey. He passed away March 11, 2015 in Clovis, New Mexico.
Donal graduated from Tatum High School in 1942. He enjoyed farming and ranching as well as fishing, camping and spending time with his family. He served as a Tatum school board member and was also a member of the Agricultural board in Lea County. Donal was married for 70 years to Verna Lytle they were joined in marriage on June 3, 1944 in Levelland Texas.
He is survived by his wife Verna of the home; 2 Daughters: Marilyn Buchanan of Portales, New Mexico, Nancy Jones of Tatum, New Mexico; 6 Grand Children: Wayne Buchanan of Tatum, New Mexico, Scott Buchanan (Martha) of Sundown, Texas, Jill Lenon of Portales, New Mexico, Zack Jones (Janette) of Monument, New Mexico, Tamara Calcote (Jon) of San Angelo, Texas and Sage Jones of Tatum, New Mexico;11 Great Grand Children and numerous nieces and nephews.
Donal was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers and a Son-In-Law Larry Buchanan.
