Orville "Glen" Brown passed away Monday, October 30, 2006 at the Ray County Memorial Hospital in Richmond, MO. Visitation will be Friday, November 4, 2006 from 6-8 p.m. at the Polley Funeral Home, Excelsior Springs, Mo. Memorial services will be held Saturday November 5 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, with burial in South Point Cemetery, Orrick, MO. Glen was born February 27, 1926 in Orrick, MO to William A. and Ida Bell (Rimmer) Brown. Glen was the seventh son of seven brothers and two sisters. He married Nadine Helen (Maynard Brown on May 27, 1949. She preceded him in death on March 11, 2001. He is survived by one daughter and her husband Sherry and Richard (Butch) Riddell of Independence, MO, a son and his wife Dennis Brown and Dr. Lillian Alderman-Brown of Kansas City, MO, four grandchildren Scott Brown, Elizabeth Washburn, Adam Riddell and George Brown, a brother P. J. Brown of Parkville, MO and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and wife he was preceded in death by five brothers, Eugene, Robert, Buck, William and George Brown and two sisters Mary Lou O'Dell and Wanda Lou Stockton.

Glenn was a veteran of W.W.II serving in Germany. He was offered an officer's commission if he would stay in the service but chose to come home.

He was a proud member of the U.A.W., VFW post 4043, A.A.R.P. and the Democratic party. Glenn enjoyed family gatherings and loved being with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed playing pitch and Fish Fries at Jerry Smith's shop. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to American Cancer Society or South Point Cemetery Association.

Services under the direction of Polley Funeral Home, Excelsior Springs, MO.
