Mrs. Brown was born Feb. 7, 1896, in Carlinville, a daughter of John and Nancy Holmes Bridges. She married Charles A. Brown, Sr., on June 28, 1913, and he preceded her in death in 1930.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Meryl (Freda) Newberry of waverly;one son Walter Brown of Waverly, four brothers, Earl Bridges of Waverly, Burleigh of Franklin, Montia of Bradenton, Fla., and Harold of Sedalia Mo., 12 grandchidlren, 22 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Two sons and a daughter preceded her in death.
She was a member of the Waverly Christian Church.
Rev. James Flanagan of Florissant, Mo., officiated at the Funeral services assisted by Rev. Richard Beach of Waverly.
The services were held Sunday, Sept. 14 at Neece Funeral Home in Waverly. Burial was in Waverly East Cemetery.
