Nanny Christina Brown, 78, a native of Missouri and a resident of Morro Bay for the past 17 years, died in a San Luis Obispo hospital after a long illness. She was born May 14, 1885.
Mrs. Browns' husband James preceded her in death in 1953 and a son Henry C. Brown in 1961. Survivors include James E. Brown, a son in Morro Bay; two daughters Mrs. Effie Frieze of East Nicholaus and Mrs. Helen Howard, Pleasant Hill; a sister Mrs. Mabel Garman, Bakersfield; 11 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at Bendict-Rettey chapel at 10 a.m. Nov. 19 with the Rev. Glenn Hascall of the First Christian Church officiating. Burial followed the service at Cayucos-Morro Bay cemetery."
