WISCONSIN DELLS/REEDSBURG - Rolland E. Brown, age 92, of Wisconsin Dells, formerly of Reedsburg, died peacefully on Monday, April 16, 2007, in his home. He was born on August 22, 1914, in Loxley, Alabama, the son of Arthur and Jessie (Edwards) Brown.
Rolland was a 1932 graduate of Reedsburg High School. On February 9, 1936, he was united in marriage to the former Annette Meyer. He was also a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1941; having earned a pharmacy degree.
From 1945 until their retirement in 1975, he and Annette operated the Brown Drug Store in Reedsburg. They lived in their home on Mirror Lake from 1955 until 1985. At that time they moved to their home on Lake Delton.
Rolland was a member of the United Methodist Church in Reedsburg, a lifetime member of the UW-Madison Alumni Association, the Reedsburg Masonic Lodge No. 79 F and AM, the Madison Consistory, and the Zor Shrine.
Rolland also had a great love of music. He was accomplished at playing the saxophone and he enjoyed playing big band music.
Survivors include his daughter, Coila Davis of Rockford, Ill.; two grandchildren, Wendy (Daniel) Hougan and Ryan Davis; two great-granddaughters, Stephanie and Brianna Hougan; and other relatives and friends.
Rolland looked forward to being reunited with his beloved wife of 61 years, Annette. She preceded him in death on May 18, 1997.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 19, 2007, at the UNITED METHODIST CHURCH in Reedsburg, with Pastor David Farina officiating. Interment will be in the Lake Delton Cemetery.
