Virginia Man, Printer For 52 Years, Is Dead

Winchester, Va., May 14. - Charles W. Brown, 70, one of the oldest printers in Virginia in continuous service, died today. He was ill only a few days with pneumonia. He had been actively engaged in newspaper printing 52 years, first under his father, Daniel L. Brown, on the old Winchester Times, and for 30 years as composing room superintendent of the Star.
He was born at Front Royal, Va., where several cousins live. The Rev. Robert B. Nelson, rector of Christ Episcopal Church, will conduct funeral rites here Saturday morning with interment in Mount Hebron Cemetery.
