Herman M. Brown, age 86, of Coweta departed this life on Monday, November 23, 2009 at his home. He was born on March 1, 1923 in Keota, Oklahoma to Sy and Floy (Robertson) Brown.

Herman was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather to his family. He received his education in Keota, Oklahoma. Herman joined the United States Army on March 10, 1943 and was honorably discharged on March 20, 1946. He and Ruby Goodnight were united in marriage on March 11, 1968 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. Herman was a a self-employed painter and rancher. He was a member of the Church of God of Holiness in Coweta, Oklahoma. His hobbies included cattle and ranching.

Herman was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and one sister.

Herman is lovingly survived by his wife, Ruby of the home; three daughters, Mary Dodson and her husband, Jake, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Linda Runnel of Coweta, Oklahoma, and Wilma Rider and her husband, Robert, of Coweta, Oklahoma; two brothers, Curt Brown of Edmond, Oklahoma and Dale Brown of Harrah, Oklahoma; three sisters, Louise Zandbergen of Grand Lake, Oklahoma Zula Clyma of Casa Grande, Arizona, and Faye Chanlee of Harrah, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Herman will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 27, 2009 at the Church of God of Holiness in Coweta, Oklahoma with Pastor Verlin Dennis officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, Oklahoma. Family and friends may view the obituary and send condolences to Herman's family online @ www.wrightfh.net.
