Denise Blake, 74, of Garden City, died Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City.
She was born Nov. 26, 1937, in Kansas City, Kan., to Wash and Justine Toler Brown. She graduated from Wyandotte High School.
A homemaker, Mrs. Blake also worked in customer service for Cherokee Sunfresh. She moved to Garden City two years ago.
On Sept. 10, 1960, she married John Blake in Kansas City, Kan. He survives. Other survivors include three children, Stephanie Knewtson of Kalamazoo, Mich., Dail Blake of Prairie Village, and Lara Bors of Garden City; a sister, Susan Hollinger of Prairie Village; and 10 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, John Blake III.
Funeral will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday at The Presbyterian Church in Garden City. An additional service will be held on Monday in Kansas City, Kan., with burial following at Highland Park Cemetery in Kansas City.
