Birth: Oct. 7, 1799
Kentucky, USA
Death: May 26, 1873

Illinois, USA

The epitaph on his stone reads: Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord.

Bedford's obituary in the Jacksonville Daily News, May 29, 1873 follows:
Died --May 26th, at his residence, in this county, of congestion of the brain. Mr. Bedford Brown, in the 74th year of his age. His remains were taken to Pisgah Presbyterian church where an appropriate sermon was preached by Rev. Dr. Sanders to a large and attentive audience.
The sermon was followed by Rev. Wm Gallaher, his old pastor, who had known the deceased for nearly 40 years, with touching reminiscences of his life and character--bearing witness to his exemplary life, as a parent, a husband, a citizen, a Christian and a faithful Ruling Elder of the church.
Rev. Mr. Gallaher, paster of Pisgah church, and Rev R. W. Allen, minister of Unity church, of which Mr. Brown was an Elder, also took part in the exercises.
