Marion Ashby
Mrs. F. Marion Ashby, 89, of Parma, died Monday, September 18, 1995, at a Caldwell Hospital of natural causes. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, September 22, 1995, at Sterry Memorial Presbyterian Church, Roswell. Private inurnment will be at the Roswell Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.
Mrs. Ashby was born July 18, 1906, at Belt, Montana, to Francis and Elizabeth Brown. She was raised and educated in Great Falls, Montana, and attended Linfield College in McMinville, Oregon. Mrs. Ashby taught high school in Sandy, Oregon, for eight years. She married martin Roy Ashby May 23, 1936, in Washington. They lived in Portland until coming to Roswell in 1947 where they farmed on the Wilder bench. Mr. Ashby died January 5, 1962. Mrs. Ashby then taught grade school in Parma until her retirement in 1973.
She was a member of Sterry Memorial Presbyterian Church in Roswell and the D.A.R.
Surviving are two sons, Thomas Ashby of Rochester, New York, and James Ashby of Poole, England; a sister, Gertrude Wellbourne of Parma; and her grandchildren, Lynn and David Ashby of Rochester and Greg Ashby and Shelly Camporini of Seattle.
She was preceded in death by her husband and a son, Robert.
