Frank Brown, 69, of Recovery Community near Bainbridge, GA, passed away Friday, January 7, 2011 at his residence.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wayne McDonald officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at Ivey Funeral Home. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com.

Mr. Brown was born August 11, 1941 in Bainbridge, GA, the son of Delmas Oliver Brown and Annie Mae Davis Brown. He retired from the U. S. Air Force and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Mr. Brown was a graduate of Attapulgus High School, a member of Recovery United Methodist Church, and a member of Bainbridge Lion's Club and the Flint River Umpiring Association. He was actively involved for over 23 years in sporting events from co-founding Bainbridge Youth Football League to umpiring over 8,000 baseball, softball, football, and basketball games. Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his brother, Renell Brown; and his sister, Naomi Morris.

Survivors include his son, Richard W. Brown of Denver, CO; many nieces and nephews; and several cousins.
