Bobby was born May 13, 1937 in Olney to the late Alton Frederick and Charlotte Ann (Vaughn) Brown. He married Mary Zinn Barrett March 30, 1958 in Midland. Bobby retired from construction and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
Bobby lived his life bringing happiness and smiles to others through his music, generosity and good-natured teasing. He delighted in giving people funny nicknames and it was a high honor to be renamed by Bob Brown.
Bobby's love of music was a large part of his life. He began playing piano as a young child and though he couldn't read sheet music, he could play almost anything by ear. He played piano, organ, guitar, bass and mandolin. For eight years he sang and played piano for the residents at Horizon Bay and was also part of his church's worship team. He was always willing to share his music with anyone. He inspired others to learn and taught some to play himself.
After 27 years in the construction business, Bobby used his talents to build playhouses for the Caleb Larson Memorial. The playhouses were raffled off to raise money for childhood neuroblastoma cancer research.
He enjoyed fishing and traveling with his family to places such as Alaska, Cozumel, Puerto Rico and St. Thomas.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Zinn Brown of Graham; daughter, Charlotte Roberts and husband Billy of Graham; son, Darryl Brown and wife Judy of Graham; brother, John Paul Brown of Granbury; 7 grandchildren 11; great grandchildren, mother-in-law, Opal Barrett of Graham; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by son, Steven Brown, sister, Marleta Rose Philley, and brothers, Ronald Wayne Brown and Glen Alton Brown.
