Alma Lou Brown, 88, passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2008, in Arlington.
Service: Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 5819 W. Pleasant Ridge Road, Arlington. Interment: 4 p.m. in Green Acres Cemetery, Cleburne. Visitation: The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington.
Alma was born Nov. 15, 1919, in Cumby to William and Anna Vincent Hoskins. She resided in Arlington for 17 years and was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Alma retired as the head baker at Joshua Middle School. She enjoyed going to church, playing bingo and playing cards at the church. Alma dearly loved her family and enjoyed getting them all together for celebrations.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Vernon Brown; and two sons, George Windford Brown and Royce Vernon Brown; and four brothers.
Survivors: Son, Lynn Brown and wife, Alisa; daughter, LaVerne Grant; grandchildren, James Grant, David Grant, Angela Grant, John Grant, Mary Davis, Annamaria Fonville, Rachel Bass, Zachary Brown and April Brown; 18 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
