Mrs. Mary M. Bishop, 78, long-time Dallas resident and prominent church and civic worker, died Wednesday in a local hospital following an extended illness. She was the wife of the late Prof. J. W. Bishop, veteran teacher in Dallas County schools and one-time county superintendent of public schools.
Native of Kentucky, she came to Texas when a young woman. Her home was on Hume Drive, near Pleasant Mound. Survived by a son, daughter, four brothers, eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Services will be Thursday. Burial in Oakland Cemetery.
