Mrs. Brown relocated from Tulsa, Oklahoma to Chicago in 1929 and became a member of Olivet Baptist Church. One of her services to the church was to give devoted services to the Royal Circle.
Mrs. Brown served for 45 years on the staff of the Seneca Hotel and worked in private homes until her retirement in 1980.
Survivors include her daughters: Ada Mae Folke and Homerzelle Richardson; a sister, Clemmie Montgomery; seven grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; two sons-in-law - Frank Williams and Raymond Richardson, all of Los Angeles; an uncle and aunt, several nieces, nephews and cousins and many dedicated and devoted friends.

Artee Rice Brown died in Chicago at the age of 78. Her funeral was held Tuesday, July 20, 1982 - 11:00 AM at Olivet Baptist Church, East 31st Street in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Joseph Jackson, Pastor officiated.
