Near the end of April 1983 she became quite ill with a stomach ache and flu like symptoms. Over several days she became progressively worse. As her conditioned worsened, Edward decided to call an ambulance to take her to the hospital. As he was on the phone, she called to him. When he returned to her bedside, she had already passed away.
