Lillian W. Brown, 80, of Rayville, Mo. died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2000, at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Mo.
Mrs. Brown was born August 31, 1919, in Richmond, Mo., to James Story and Mary Elizabeth (Smith) Watkins. She married Henry Allen Brown of Rayville, on January 14, 1956; he survives of the home.
Mrs. Brown was a retired Home Economics teacher, working for the Richmond Public School System. She retired in 1977. She had formerly been the Missouri Home Extension Agent for several years. She had also taught school at Rocky Fort, Henrietta, Rayville, and Richmond. She was a graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia. She was a member of the Rayville Christian Union Church, the Richmond Chapter #255 of the Order of the Eastern Star, the United Daughters of Confederacy, the Colonial Dames, and the Allen-Morton-Watkins Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a lifetime Richmond and Rayville resident.
Additional survivors include one niece, Grace Elizabeth "Beth" Hicks of Windsor, Mo.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, James S. Watkins.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 26, 2000, at 10:30 a.m. at the Rayville Christian Union Church. Burial will be at Watkins Cemetery in Richmond. Visitation will be held Friday, Feb. 25, 2000, from 7 to 8 p.m., at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Rayville Christian Union Church, or to the American Diabetes Association. (bio by: kerri )
