Obituary
Adrian Julian Brown, 37, of RFD 1, Adamstown, died Monday at the Frederick Memorial Hospital after a long illness. Born in Hope Hill, he was the son of Newton Levi and Anna Howard Brown, both of Hope Hill.

A graduate of Bowie State College and a member of the Bowie Alumna Association, he was a former principal of Doubs Elementary School and currently served as vice principal of Carroll Manor Elementary School at Adamstown.

He was a member of the Hope Hill United Methodist Church and served as its treasurer, treasurer of Hope Hill Cemetery Inc., a member of the Frederick County Teachers Assn., Maryland State Teachers Assn., National Education Assn., Mountain City Lodge 382 of the Elks where he served as financial secretary, Blue Ridge Council 384 of Elks, and was a member of the Elementary School Principals Assn.

Surviving besides his wife and parents are two daughters, Tangela Tyree and Trudy Lynn Brown, both at home; five brothers, Earl D. Brown, Bartonsville, Leonard L. Brown, Washington, D.C., David H. and Bernard W. Brown, both of Frederick, Julian A. Brown, New Windsor; one sister, Mrs. Anna V. Adams, Brentwood; four aunts, Mrs. Katie Cromwell, Frederick, Mrs. Rachael Snowden, Clarksburg, Mrs. Sadie Harris and Mrs. Mazie Gray, both of Philadelphia, one uncle, Lloyd Brown, Hope Hill. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Friends may call at the Hicks Funeral Home, 263 West Patrick St., Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Hope Hill United Methodist Church by the pastor, the Rev. Pearlene Wooldridge. The Rev. George David, Centerville, retired Methodist minister, will preach the eulogy. There will be no viewing after the services and interment will be in the Hope Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Frederick County Cancer Society.
