Mina Jane Brown, 90, Altamont, passed away at the Labette Co. Med center at 6:10 am, Tues morning, Sept 25, 1984 following a long illness. She was born Aug 21, 1894 at Altamont to George and Florence Monroe Christy and lived her entire life in Altamont except for five years in Monett, MO.
For years she was bookkeeper at the Lane's Department Store, and later served at Altamont City clerk.
She was married Sept 16, 1954 to Carl T Brown. he preceded her in deth in 1971. She was a member of the Royal Neighbors, Charter member of the Crystal Rebekah Lodge, 50 year plus member of Progress Chapter of Order of Eastern Star, an Honorary member of the fine Arts Club of Altamont.
Survivors are two sisters, Julia Christy, Altamont, who had been a life long companion and had cared for her the last 3 1/2 years of her illness, Mrs. Stella Todd of Sedan; four brothers, and two sisters preceded her in death.
Services will be held at the Sperry-McConnell-Bath Chapel on Thurs, Sept 27, at 2 pm with burial in the Memorial Lawn Cem, Parsons.
