Edna R. Beard, 90, of Bluffton passed away at 3:22 a.m. Friday at Bluffton Regional Medical Center. Edna was born on July 26, 1922 in Cottonwood, Illinois to Alfred & Lori Jane (Greer) Brown.

She graduated from Ridgeway High School in Ridgeway, Illinois. She also graduated from St. Joseph Nursing School in Fort Wayne as an LPN. She worked at Cooper Care Center in Bluffton for 22 years. She also worked at the Caylor-Nickel Clinic and Wells Community Hospital as an LPN. She was a lifetime member of the Eastern Star. On June 29, 1943 in St. Louis, she married William Beard. He preceded her in death on October 22, 1988.

Survivors include three daughters; Mrs. Clarence "Jane" Skinner of Bluffton, Mrs. Gary "Janice" Dawson of Memphis, Tennessee and Mrs. Ronald "Patricia J." Holley of Murray, along with 9 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by siblings' Horace Brown, Myrtle Decker, Silas Brown and a grandson Cary Dawson.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 3, 2013 at the Thoma/Rich, Chaney & Lemler Funeral Home in Bluffton with Pastor Larry Sprinkle officiating. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, June 2, 2013 from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery in Bluffton
