Barbara Ellen (Campbell) Brown, age 86, passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2009 in Franklin. She was a resident of Franklin.
She was born on December 1, 1922 in Sullivan, Indiana to the late Harold D. and Hazel (Russell) Campbell. She married Charles "Bob" R. Brown on November 21, 1945 in Indianapolis. He preceded her in passing on September 19, 1954.
She is survived by daughter, Sara Ellen "Sally" Gallagher of Franklin; brother, Thomas R, "Tom" Campbell of Brownsburg; Son-in-law, William Michael "Mike" Gallagher of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Lori (John) Hawkins of Franklin; Kelly Gallagher of Greenwood, Michael Ryan "Mike" Gallagher and Amy Whittenbarger of Franklin; and great-grandchildren, Brittany Ward and Jackson Philip Hawkins.
She was a 1940 graduate of Sullivan High School and attended Indiana State University.
Barbara was a employed by Mary Sherman Hospital in Sullivan as a Nurse's Aide for twenty-one years, retiring in 1986.
She was a former member of Sullivan Christian Church. She was a member of Franklin Memorial Christian Church where she was active in Bible Study and various other church activities. She was a member of Tri-Kappa Sorority in Sullivan.
Barbara devoted her entire life to taking care of others, her parents, her patients at the hospital and her grandson. She enjoyed cooking, reading, going to church and bible study.
A graveside service will be conducted on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at Center Ridge Cemetery in Sullivan, Indiana.
