Charles “Charlie” Brown, 65, of Odessa, passed away Tuesday, June 15, 2004, at his residence. He was born Sept. 10, 1938, in Boswell, Okla. He married Peggy Mitchell May 9, 1959, in Odessa. He owned Charlie Brown Industrial Steam Cleaning. He attended Temple Baptist Church. He enjoyed bird hunting, fishing and golf.
Charlie was preceded in death by his father, Gordon Brown, and a very close uncle, Charlie Brown.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Brown of Odessa; son, Coy Brown and wife, Marie, of The Colony; daughters, Dana Pittman and husband, Dwaine, of Aledo, and Charla Young and husband, Michael, of Lubbock; mother, Juanita Brown of Boswell, Okla.; brothers, Jerry Brown and wife, Judy, of Elk City, Okla., and Daryl Brown and wife, Cindy, of Boswell, Okla.; sister, Sue Betancourt and husband, Frank, of Waxahachie; and five grandchildren, whom he adored, Starla Pittman, McKaylee Pittman, Taryn Pittman, Korbin Pittman and Lindsey Young; and several nieces and nephews.
There will be a visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 17, 2004, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 18, 2004, at Temple Baptist Church Harvesters Class with the Rev. Griffin Jones officiating.
Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
The family would like to remember our dear Charlie, a loving husband, father, papa and dear friend, who lived a vivacious and endearing life.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
