Shirley Marie Brown of Fayetteville, Georgia, passed away on February 18, 2011 at the age of 85. Mrs. Brown was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who was a quiet supporter, and nurtured her family in all aspects of their lives. Shirley enjoyed family time, whether playing cards, sewing for her family and others, dancing, or playing golf, she always knew how to make life fun. She was a member of the St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church for over 42 years where she participated in the Women's Circle and at one time taught public speaking classes.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Wayne Irving Brown, of Fayetteville; children, Pamela (Joseph) Fox of Cookeville, Tennessee, Barbara Schottke of Fayetteville, Janice (Edward) Birch of Kalamazoo, Michigan, Michael (Paola) Brown of Brooks, Mark (Melissa) Brown of Fayetteville, Marcia (Robert) Bassett of Loganville; 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral mass held Monday, February 21 at Saint Philip Benizi Catholic Church, Jonesboro, GA with Father John Koziol officiating. Interment at Camp Memorial Park in Fayetteville. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville in charge of arrangements.
