She married Allie Brummit Brooks on Oct. 8, 1916 (the day before her 16th birthday). They had six children.
Finis Alton Brooks (b.10-27-1917)
Hartwell Brown Brooks (b.10-20-1919)
Roy Foust and Coy Brummit Brooks (b.4-13-1921)

My grandmother was an exceptional lady. She was always a very devoted wife and mother. She suffered many hardships while raising her family but she never complained. She always knew that God would provide a way. She lived her life that if you couldn't say something good about someone, don't say anything.
Her grandchildren were the sparkle in her eye and to her none of them could do any wrong. Even though her education was limited, she was an extremely intelligent person. Her memory, even in her last years, was something that was envied by many.
All four of her sons were in WWII and all but one were in combat. (Roy died when he was about 3 years old.)
The legacy that she left for her family will never be forgotten!
