Clinton traveled with his family in a covered wagon from Oklahoma to Florida in early childhood, and then moved to Bledsoe County by age 6, Here he met his beloved wife, Mauvine, and raised his family. Mr. Brown attended the Church of God and baptized in Rocky Branch near shady Vale Church of God early in his married life. Clinton was a farmer and carpenter, and built many of the homes in and around Bledsoe County.
Mr. Brown is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mauvine Brown, Pikeville; two daughters and son-in-laws, Faye B. Robertson, and the late Dr. Joe Robertson of Crossville, and Doris B. and Earl Morgan, Pikeville; two sons and daughter-in-laws, Richard L (Dick) and Judy Brown, Pikeville, Mack and Roberts Brown, Pikeville; eight grandchildren, Debra F. Curtis, Penny Curtis, Joe Curtis III, Ricky Brown, Gina Boynton, Perry Brown, Paul Brown and Kimberly Howard; two step-granddaughters, Laura Harris and Lecia Walling; 19 great grandchildren; two brothers Claude and Norman Brown, both of Pikeville; and many friends and neighbors.
Funeral services for Mr. Brown will be held Monday at 1:00 P.M. CST in the funeral home chapel with Rev. W. C. Vaughn and Rev. Doyle Ashburn officiating. Burial will be in Worthington Cemetery.
