from the Robinson (IL) Constitution, Nov. 11, 1896:
"Miss Iona Lee Browning, after an extended illness of consumption, peacefully passed to her reward at 9:30 o'clock Monday morning, Nov. 9, 1896. She was the daughter of Thos. N. and S.A. Browning, and was born in this city on Nov. 13, 1876, and was therefore nearing her 20th birthday.
Iona was a sweet, loveable girl and many there are who sadly mourn her untimely death. She bore her suffering patiently, and while she regretted to leave all that was so dear to her here she was prepared to go. She united with the Methodist church about five years ago and died in perfect confidence that a blessed immortality was her portion.
The funeral occurred at the church at 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon, where Rev. C.A. Beckett delivered a touching discourse, after which her remains were conveyed to the city cemetery and tenderly consigned to their last resting place."
