Alice had a accident at her home causing second degree burns to her trunk, legs and left arm. The injuries were so bad that Alice died two days after the accident.
MRS. ALICE MAE CLARK, 70, died at her home in Spring City, Tenn., at 11 a.m. Monday from burns received when her clothing became ignited from a grate fire Saturday night. She was the wife of the late John F. Browder. Survivors, son, M.D. Browder, Knoxville; daughter Mrs. Horace Peek, Chattanooga; four sisters, Mrs. Anna Wann and Mrs. Lillian Hawn, Misses Ernestine and Beulah Clark, all of Spring City. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, Spring City, the Rev. E. R. Lewis officiating. Interment will be in City Cemetery. Pall-bearers, James F. Collins, R. B. Gibson, John R. Fischesser, T.C. Foust, G.B. Hale, W. L. Alonzo. The body will be at the funeral home of Vaughn & Vaughn until time for the funeral.
