Arvel (Bud) Brothers, 66, of 456 N. Thompson St., Carrier Mills, died at 2:50 a.m. Sunday at his residence.
He was a retired retail salesman and was born in Jackson County on March 8, 1927, to the late Arvel M. Brothers and Wanda M. House Brothers, who Survives.
Mr. Brothers was an elder and member of Providence Cumberland Church at Carrier Mills. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
On July 2, 1970, he married the former Margaret Robinson, who survives. In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by three daughters, Robyn Williams of Harrisburg, Debbie Brothers of Springfield and Angela Lea Brothers, Carrier Mills; a son, Mark Brothers, Elko, Nev.; nine grandchildren, Nell, Katy, Maggie and Wesley Williams, Sarah, Jonathan and Zachary Brothers, Joel Styzens and Galen Furry; two brothers, Wayne Brothers of Wayne City and Lee Brothers of Murphysboro; and two sisters, Aileen Ellis of Anna and Ina Young of Murphysboro.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Absher-Nicholson Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, where friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today. The Revs. Charlie White and Darrell Ford will Officiate. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery.
