Alice Calvanis (Dodd) Brooks, 90, of Inman, South Carolina, passed away Saturday, December 13, 2003, at National Healthcare in Greenwood, South Carolina.
Born in Fingerville, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late John Thomas Dodd and Lou May (Watson) Dodd. She was the widow of Palmer Brice Brooks, Jr. (1912-1983).
She retired from Beason's Department Store after more than 50 years of service. She was a member of Inman Presbyterian Church and was a member of The Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include a daughter, Ann Urquhart; a son, Thomas Barry Brooks; three half-sisters, Ethel West, Evelyn Rhymer and Virginia Horton; a half-brother, Thomas Earl Dodd; fourth grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, December 15, 2003, at Seawright Funeral Home Chapel conducted by the Rev. Gordon Raynal. Burial was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Inman, South Carolina.
