Rosemary Bolinger, a former longtime Cushing resident, now of Edmond, OK, passed away Friday, April 27, 2012 in Oklahoma City at the age of 88 years.
The daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. S.A. Brooks, Rosemary was born on December 15, 1923. She was raised and educated in Anadarko.
She married the love of her life, George F. Bolinger, D.D.S., on November 28, 1942, in Stillwater. The couple had three children: Karen, George III (Rick) and Micki, all of whom were raised in Cushing.
George and Rosemary also helped raise their niece, Shelley Manning, who has always been considered their fourth child.
While in Cushing, Rosemary and George belonged to St. Alban's Episcopal Church and were active in a number of ministries. Rosemary particularly enjoyed playing the organ at St. Albans's. She was a volunteer for the Cushing Regional Hospital Auxiliary for many years. She enjoyed dancing, traveling and her family.
The couple moved to Edmond in January, 1997, where she and George followed the activities of their grandchildren, participated in ball room dancing and became active members of St. Mary's Episcopal Church. George preceded her in death on October 17, 1997, after 55 years of marriage.
Survivors include: George and Rosemary's three children, Karen Thomas and her husband, Jim, of Norman; George Fredrick Bolinger III (Rick) and his wife, Theresa, of Tulsa, and Micki Taylor and her husband, Floyd, of Edmond; eight grandchildren, Bret Thomas and his wife Yanira, Kristen Vaticano and her husband, Anthony, Kevin Taylor and wife, Kelli, Eric Taylor, Chris Taylor and wife, Rachel, Troy Wilder and wife Lori, Dawn Porter; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of nephews and nieces, including Noma Gurich-Miley, a Justice of the Oklahoma Supreme Court. Rosemary took exceptional pride in her family and was loved and revered by all. She will be greatly missed.
In addition to her parents and husband, Rosemary was preceded in death by six older brothers and sisters and many good friends from Cushing.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Episcopal Church, Edmond.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at 3 p.m. in St. Mary Episcopal Church in Edmond (325 East 1st) with the Rev. Mark D. Story, officiating.
Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery in Cushing.
