MRS. MAUDE CAMPBELL
Maude Brooks, daughter of Hiram and Ruhama Brooks, was born Sept. 30, 1883, at Luverne, Minn., and passed away at her home south of Chariton, Feb. 20, 1953 at the age of 69 years, four months and 20 days.
She is survived by her husband, R. J. Campbell, three daughters, Bernice Kladstrup of Moline, Ill., Marlene Montgomery of Corydon, and Roberta Clothier of Burlington; a brother, Claud Brooks of Des Moines; and a sister, Blanche Ratcliffe of Chariton.
Also surviving are six grandchildren, Charles Shirer, Kathryn Current, Dean Trimble, Bobbie Lee, Nancy and Billy Burnett and one great-grandchild, Jimmie Current.
Mrs. Campbell was a teacher in the Chariton public schools for 22 years. She was a member of the Chariton Methodist church, Eastern Star and White Shrine.
Funeral services were held at the Beardsley Funeral Home Sunday afternoon at 2:30 with the Rev. Robert Swick in charge. The body was laid to rest in the Chariton cemetery.
