Nancy Beatrice Strickland Brooks, 80, of Jerry Court, a native of Smithfield, N.C., and the widow of John C. Brooks, died Saturday in a Virginia Beach hospital.
She was a member of Indian River Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, J.D. Brooks of Virginia Beach, Robert L. Brooks of Chesapeake and J.C. Brooks of Norfolk; four sisters, Cora Hockaday and Ora Massengill of Four Oaks, N.C., Mrs. Jessie Johnson of Richmond and Inez Gough; two brothers, Edgar Moore of Rhode Island and Robert Moore of Four Oaks; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Francis A. Gay Funeral Home, South Norfolk Chapel, with burial in Riverside Memorial Park. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday.
