St. George, Utah – Clifford William Brooks, born 16 Aug 1928 passed away 2 Nov 2014.
Less than a year into retirement, he made up his mind: this sucks! He then launched a Phoenix Plaza women's fashion store in his name and joined the St. George Chamber of Commerce.
As a sales director for Pro Hardware he traveled as far as England and Italy. For leisure, he treated his loved ones to vacations in Alaska, Hawaii, Ireland, and all places in between. As a sportsman, he hunted, fished, kept horses, and still holds the Robbinsdale High School record for most points in a varsity basketball game.
Born to William and Genevieve Brooks, he is survived by his wife and high school sweetheart, Mary Connoy, whom he wed on 10 Feb 1949. He also leaves behind his younger brother, William Brooks Jr.; three sisters-in-law, Mary-Joe (William Jr.), Barbara (Earl), and Char (Robert); his children, Terri (Kevin) and Tom (Carrie) who accounted for seven grand children: Stacy (Kevin), J.W. (Sarah), Cody (Cyndee), Dillon, Jessica, Erica (Dan), and Clifton (Vinita); ten great grand children; and one great great grand child.
To honor the love he shared with family and friends, memorial services will take place at Metcalf Mortuary Chapel, 288 W St. George Boulevard, at 1:00pm Thursday, 6 November with a viewing from 11:30am to 12:30pm. Interment at Tonaquint Cemetery will directly follow the service. In lieu of flowers, please support a charity of your choice.
